Yes, I realize this is over a week late. It was a very busy time spent with family, and I kind of enjoyed all the time away from a screen.
So, as I mentioned, Bella is too smart for her own good. Since she was a puppy, we have bought her presents for Christmas and wrapped them up. She knows exactly how to open presents and now expects a present at Christmas. Last year, my nephews came to visit a few weeks before Christmas and were able to open their presents then. We made the mistake of not letting Bella and Misha open their presents. Bella pouted all night. It was something straight out of an ASPCA commercial.
This year, my youngest nephew got to open one present on Christmas Eve. We thought it wouldn’t be that big of a deal to the dogs. We were wrong. They tried to help him open the present. They tried to open all of the presents under the tree. This year, even Misha went crazy over the present opening. She was so excited to be able to tear up the paper.
As you can see in the video, they are very different in how they open presents. Bella gets the paper off to get the toy as fast as possible. Misha savors the moment of being able to tear something apart without getting in trouble.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you gave your dogs toys for Christmas, I hope they last longer than the toys we gave my dogs! Indestructible means nothing with these girls!
